In addition to basic school activities, we have three afterschool programs. The school is multicultural with a large proportion of multilingual students, so we work with a language-development approach where we see multilingualism as a strength. Practical and aesthetic activities are a prioritized and natural part of our daily activities. We make the most of our proximity to beautiful coastal and forest environments both during the school day and in our afterschool programs. Häggdånger byskola is a preschool-grade 6 school with approximately 30 students and four employees located south of Härnösand in Häggdånger. It is the municipality's smallest school, and the surrounding nature enriches the pedagogical activities. The school uses an age-integrated approach and works in close collaboration with preschool, which is the small school's strength. Daily life at the schools is characterized by collaborative work focused on student learning and development, where we create shared visions and utilize competence optimally. Learning together through shared professional development based on student needs is a natural part of how we work. School leadership drives school development forward and analyzes results together with our lead teachers. Job Responsibilities We are now seeking an assistant principal for Solenskolan and Häggdånger byskola. The responsibilities span operational matters, finances, personnel, and work environment, with emphasis on operational matters. The assistant principal works in close collaboration with the immediate supervisor, who is the principal at the units, and responsibilities are distributed by mutual agreement. The responsibilities include both work organization and development organization. You as a Candidate We are looking for someone with experience in school development work. You should be driven by commitment to school development with a student-centered perspective and good understanding of the school's compensatory mission. You have good relational skills and want to create close collaboration with guardians and students. You are a clear pedagogical leader who initiates and drives work based on shared goals. Your excellent communication skills make you receptive and able to influence, create interest, involvement, engagement, and understanding among employees and colleagues. You need a flexible approach and good ability to prioritize and complete a range of tasks. In the role of assistant principal, it is important that you can create structure, see the whole picture, and can monitor and analyze operations. Through your actions, you contribute to a stable, structured, and positive school environment. Qualifications/Requirements Experience working in schools and good pedagogical ability are required for the position. You have good knowledge of Swedish as a second language and a deep understanding of newly arrived students' learning processes and needs. You have experience leading student health work toward a good environment for learning and development. You hold a university/college degree in pedagogy, methodology, or behavioral science, or in an area that the employer deems relevant for the assignment. You express yourself well in speech and writing. Merits for the Position Completed state principal training. Experience in school management as a school leader, lead teacher, or other role. Experience with pedagogical development work, student health, work environment, finances, and personnel matters. Experience with scheduling and planning related to organizational work.
