My name is Karin Harnesk and I hope to become your new manager. As a leader, I am energetic, development-oriented, and clear. Together with assistant principals, I work to develop conscious teaching where children's learning and development are at the center. I believe in the power of collaboration and that we develop our operations best together. It's important to me to create a culture where we take responsibility, learn from each other, and dare to try new ideas.

As a manager in the City of Stockholm, you are offered an introduction, management training, and ongoing professional development in leadership, operations development, and employer matters.
Your role
As assistant principal, you have an operational and operations-focused responsibility for the unit's preschools. You lead, develop, and follow up on operations in close collaboration with the principal and other assistant principals. Your task is to contribute to equivalent quality by ensuring that operations are conducted based on the curriculum, school law, municipal council goals, and Södermalm's pedagogical positions.
You lead preschools with different conditions and development needs, which requires situation-adapted leadership where you both see each operation's specific needs and the whole of the unit.
You have budget, work environment, and personnel responsibility for approximately 35 employees and work systematically with goals, results, and quality work. Through clear and trust-based leadership, you create conditions for employees to take responsibility, develop, and succeed in their assignments.
We're looking for someone who thrives close to operations. You are present in the preschools' daily life, support the educators, and are curious about what happens in the operations. You work to create engagement, participation, and responsibility-taking and see the value of developing both people and organization.
As assistant principal, you are part of the preschool area's management team together with the principal, other assistant principals, and an administrator.
Your competence and experience
We're looking for someone who has:
a pedagogical university degree with preschool teacher certification
at least five years of work as a preschool teacher in preschool
experience in a leadership function within preschool, such as coordinator, unit manager, or similar
good knowledge of preschool's governing documents
good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
It is meritorious if you have:
previous management experience
completed or started principal training
experience with operations development, quality work, or change management
experience from a politically governed organization
Your personal abilities
To succeed in the role, you need to have a good overall perspective and be able to weigh the operation's different needs in your decisions. You work goal-oriented and structured and have the ability to convert goals into concrete results. You are clear in your communication and ensure that expectations, decisions, and assignments are well-anchored. At the same time, you have good collaboration skills and build trusting relationships with employees, colleagues, and guardians. We're also looking for someone who is development-oriented and sees opportunities for improvement and learning. You contribute with engagement, fresh thinking, and a professional approach in daily work.
Great weight will be placed on personal suitability and leadership ability.
