What we offer As a new manager within the City of Stockholm, you'll be offered management introduction and through the city's network you deepen your knowledge in various areas and build valuable relationships. Your role As assistant principal for the lower grades and after-school program at Gubbängsskolan, you lead the operations close to students, guardians and staff. You're responsible for operations, personnel and finances within your area and at the same time contribute to the school's strategic development with the equity perspective as a central part of the school leadership mission together with the principal and the rest of the leadership team. You'll be responsible for the lower grades with two parallel classes in grades F–2 and three parallel classes in grades 3 onwards for the coming school year. Together with team leaders and after-school program leaders, you develop the operations through leadership characterized by clarity, trust and participation. As part of the school's leadership team, you work for a holistic perspective with good transitions between grade levels in an F–9 perspective. You ensure that the operations are based on scientific grounds and proven experience and support the principal in the school's development work. The assignment also includes sharing responsibility with the student support team for the lower grades' smaller teaching group and following up on the effects of students' support measures. Reading, language and mathematics development are prioritized areas. The after-school program is a central part of the assignment. After a three-year IFOUS program, the development of cooperation between school and after-school programs continues to strengthen students' learning and goal achievement. Your expertise and leadership We're looking for you who are a confident, clear and development-oriented leader who wants to help further develop Gubbängsskolan's lower grades and after-school program. You have a good ability to create engagement, build trusting relationships and lead with a focus on quality, equity and students' best interests. Qualifications We're looking for someone who has Higher education or university degree with a pedagogical focus and teacher certification. Experience leading development work in lower grades and/or after-school programs with documented good results. Experience in formal leadership positions in schools. Experience with collaboration. Good knowledge of the curriculum's goals for younger ages and the after-school program's mission. Good knowledge of the school's governing documents, pedagogy, students' learning and current research in the field. Ability to implement goals and governing documents in daily work and follow up on operations results in a systematic way. Meritorious Completed or ongoing principal training. Leadership or management team training. Experience in school leadership positions within the City of Stockholm. Experience in school leadership positions with younger age groups.
