Within the Children's and Education Department, our approximately 3,000 employees work with around 14,000 children and students at more than 100 preschools and schools throughout the municipality every day. Your New Workplace We are seeking an Assistant Principal for our preschool management team. The operations have different conditions and needs, which makes the assignment both varied, developmental, and meaningful. As Assistant Principal, you are responsible for two preschools and work together with the Principal, special educators, and other assistant principals in the management team's work group. The position is responsible for the following 2 preschools: Vibacke and Äppellunda Preschools in the Alnö/Ljustadalen area. How You Contribute as Assistant Principal As Assistant Principal, you have responsibility for working environment, personnel, budget, and pedagogical matters for the preschools' operations. You are responsible for leading, developing, and following up on the operations based on school laws, the preschool curriculum, municipal goals, and political decisions. The assignment includes planning, following up, and developing operations with a focus on quality, equity, and children's best interests. You work both strategically and operatively and contribute to creating good conditions for children's learning, development, and well-being. You work together with the Principal and other assistant principals in the management group, where you collectively lead and develop the operations. In the role, you collaborate closely with parents/guardians, employees, the department, and other municipal operations. You contribute to good communication, a holistic perspective, and trustful collaboration in a politically governed organization. Your Competence and Experience We are looking for you with a preschool teacher qualification/teaching degree and extensive experience in the profession. You also have: • Experience leading and organizing preschool or school operations. • Good verbal and written skills in Swedish and basic knowledge of English. • Basic computer skills • Category B driver's license We consider the following as merits: • If you have completed the state principal education program • Experience as a leader in preschool where operational and personnel responsibility was included. We are looking for someone who is a confident and clear leader who creates engagement, participation, and good relationships in the operation. You are development-oriented and driven to develop the operation based on goals and needs. You have good collaboration skills and work attentively and professionally with employees, parents/guardians, and colleagues. The role also requires that you are flexible, adapt easily to changed circumstances, and can prioritize in a developing operation. We place great importance on personal suitability!
