About the Position
As an Assistant Project Manager for Submarine Systems, you will play a central role in planning, leading, developing, and monitoring project activities related to complex submarine systems alongside the main project manager. You will primarily be part of the project management team for a specific project, with the goal of delivering submarines to the Swedish Armed Forces. The role involves ensuring that the project's objectives are achieved within the given constraints of time, budget, and quality.
In this role, you are responsible for planning the project's implementation by developing timelines, assessing resource needs, and monitoring the project's finances. You participate in leading and coordinating work within the project team and develop and manage project documentation that is analyzed, evaluated, and reported as basis for decisions. The work also includes preparing procurement materials and ongoing collaboration with national and international suppliers. Together with other colleagues, you contribute to developing and delivering advanced marine systems that strengthen Sweden's defense capabilities. The role carries significant responsibility but also offers good opportunities to influence working methods, priorities, and solutions within the project's scope.
The position is based in Karlskrona. Travel occurs regularly.
About You
We are looking for someone with experience as a project manager or sub-project manager from larger projects and experience leading projects with project team members and multiple stakeholders involved. The position requires strong skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. You hold a Category B driving license.
It is an advantage if you have post-secondary education relevant to the position or equivalent competence acquired in other ways. We also view positively if you have project management training, experience working in the technical field, use of project planning tools and risk management, as well as experience with public procurement and negotiations.
If you have experience from the defense sector or knowledge of submarine design and submarine system architecture, that is an advantage. Military training with submarines as a specialty area is also valuable.

You work well with others and build good relationships both within your own organization and with external actors. You communicate in a clear and professional manner and have the ability to adapt your message to different audiences.
