The Planning Department is responsible for central business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring processes. The department is also responsible for procurement and purchasing processes, financial reporting and statistics, as well as enabling external financing of development projects. As a leader, you provide your employees with excellent opportunities to develop in their roles and carry out their assignments in the best possible way by building on the development capacity, responsibility, and competence that exists within the department. As assistant planning director, you work closely with the planning director. Based on assignments and budget, you support the planning director in working toward established goals and direction by leading, developing, managing, and monitoring the department's operations. Main Responsibilities You support the planning director and your management colleagues in the strategic development of the agency through analyses and decision-making materials linked to the department's various assignments. Together with the planning director, you contribute to maintaining the highest quality in analysis, planning, and monitoring of the agency's operations. You report to the planning director and are part of the department's management team. You are also unit director for the department's office, with personnel, budget, and operational responsibility. A significant part of the role involves initiating and driving strategic and comprehensive quality, improvement, and development work in close dialogue with unit directors. You support and assist the planning director and stand in for them when needed. You collaborate with worker organizations and work to create a good work environment. You collaborate and communicate both internally and externally and represent the department in various contexts. Personal Qualities We place great importance on our managers having the personal qualities required to successfully lead and develop operations. As assistant department director, you should coach, motivate, and develop managers and employees. You lead with courage, empathy, and clarity and inspire by giving responsibility, trust, and support. You have good strategic ability and are analytical, both in writing and numerically, and you act with a comprehensive perspective and are well-organized. You have the ability to prioritize, move issues forward, and achieve results both independently and in collaboration with managers and employees. You have an interest in and ability to create trusting collaborations within the agency, with the Government Offices, and with other external stakeholders. In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on good judgment and a high level of security and confidentiality awareness. We are looking for you who have: Academic education preferably in economics, law, political science, or other education combined with experience that the employer considers equivalent. Several years of experience working in one or more areas related to business planning, financial management, accounting, procurement and purchasing, and statistics production. Management experience with responsibility for employees and work environment. Experience leading and developing operations with excellent results. Good communication skills. You express yourself very well in speech and writing in Swedish. Swedish citizenship. It is meritorious if you have: Experience working within government operations. Experience working with migration issues. Management experience from government operations. Experience leading remotely. A security screening with background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted. Based on this, Swedish citizenship is required. The employment is contingent on an approved security screening.
