The position is within the field of information technology, which at Högskolan i Skövde is defined as the study of how information is represented, processed, and communicated in artificial and natural systems, and how information technology systems are used and developed to create useful system solutions for individuals, organizations, or society. Information technology is in an expansive phase, and we are seeking more employees who want to help develop our activities in both teaching and research! Your Role The position of Assistant Lecturer is a qualifying appointment intended to lead to promotion to a permanent position as Lecturer. The Assistant Lecturer will have the opportunity to develop an independent research profile and to qualify both scientifically and pedagogically to meet the eligibility requirements for employment as a Lecturer. The position is time-limited to four years and is full-time. An individually tailored development plan will be established to support the Assistant Lecturer's qualification. During the employment period, the Assistant Lecturer may apply for promotion to Lecturer once the eligibility requirements are met. Upon approved promotion, the employment will transition to a permanent position. You will be employed at the Department of Data and Systems Science and will be part of the Interaction Lab research group. Within Interaction Lab, research is conducted with a pronounced user-centered profile, with a strong focus on autonomous systems and human-robot interaction. Within this specific area, you will be able to develop your own research direction over time, for example toward interaction with industrial robots, interaction with social robots, or driver assistance in vehicles. You are also expected to contribute to teaching in information technology at undergraduate and advanced levels. The main responsibilities of the position are: Research on human interaction with autonomous systems. Teaching in information technology. Additional tasks may be included in the position. We Are Looking for You If You Have: Completed a doctoral degree in information technology or a related field, or have attained equivalent scientific competence. Preference will be given to those who have completed a doctoral degree or achieved equivalent competence no more than five years before the application deadline. Documented ability to express yourself in spoken and written English. Documented ability to collaborate. We Will Also Evaluate the Following Assessment Criteria: Of highest importance: The degree of competence required for eligibility. Experience with research in human-robot interaction, human-computer interaction, or user experience design. Good ability to independently plan and organize your work. Of next highest importance: Experience with research on human interaction with autonomous systems. Good knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative methods. Ability to competitively seek and obtain external research funding. Good ability to create contacts and networks. Good ability to plan, conduct, and examine education. Also of importance: Good ability to express yourself in spoken and written Swedish. Good administrative competence. Ability to mentor students at undergraduate and advanced levels. Employment Type: The position is time-limited for four years. An Assistant Lecturer has the right during the employment period to apply for promotion to Lecturer once eligible. Upon approved promotion, the employment will transition to a permanent position.
