Academic Hospital, Region Uppsala Region Uppsala is a university healthcare region. We are now seeking a Deputy Research and Education Director and Chief of Education with primary responsibility for driving operatively and strategically important matters related to the education mandate in close collaboration with healthcare operations and education coordinators. Our Operations As a university healthcare region, we have an extensive, important, and complex education mandate. This mandate is significant for patient safety, healthcare quality, care development, and work environment, and is crucial for our competency supply. Each year, students from over thirty different education programs from universities, colleges, vocational schools, secondary schools, and adult education complete clinical practice within our healthcare and dental care. In close collaboration with these educational institutions, we work to ensure adequate educational capacity in a sustainable way for our operations, and to ensure consistent and high quality in clinical supervision. We are also responsible for several regulated clinical education mandates: general practice (AT) and basic practice (BT) for physicians, specialty practice (ST) for physicians in over fifty different specialties, practical practice (PTP) for psychologists, specialty practice (ST) for dentists, and practical practice for foreign-trained physicians (PT). Within university healthcare, we also receive ST physicians from healthcare regions Middle Sweden, the Northern County Councils, and Åland for practice within highly specialized care. Your Assignment In your role as Deputy Research and Education Director at the Academic Hospital and Chief of Education for Region Uppsala, you have overall responsibility for work on operative and strategic matters related to the education mandate within Region Uppsala's healthcare and dental care. You are responsible for coordination, management, and support to the administrations in matters concerning the education mandate, for monitoring and progress in relation to short- and long-term goals, and for identifying future needs and challenges. You monitor government investigations and prepare responses to referrals. You participate in or lead projects and investigations related to the education mandate. You serve as support to the healthcare director, administration directors, healthcare managers, and HR on matters related to the education mandate. You lead a management group for education coordinators at the administration level. You drive the education council within Region Uppsala's healthcare and serve as strategic support for regional education units organizationally placed at the Research and Education Department at the Academic Hospital. You manage education strategists and collaboration strategists organizationally placed at the healthcare department. You are head of our International Office and unit manager for Region Uppsala's Clinical Training Center. You represent Region Uppsala in regional, healthcare regional, and national forums and in committees at Uppsala University. You are regularly co-opted to the management group at the healthcare department, serve in the extended management group at the Academic Hospital, and in various steering groups. Your Qualifications You have higher education within healthcare and you hold a doctorate. You have excellent knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, and good knowledge of Office365. Meritorious Substantial experience working with education mandates within healthcare and/or within university. Good knowledge of university healthcare and its conditions. Experience working in politically governed organizations. Physician education mandates are a large part of Region Uppsala's education mandate, which means it is meritorious to be a physician. Experience with management assignments, project management, and other types of leadership assignments is meritorious. Your Competence You have good knowledge of and strong interest in education issues within healthcare. You are driven and well-organized. You have very good collaborative ability and very good communication skills. You are motivated by achieving results and shared goals in collaboration with others.
