We are seeking an assistant unit manager who is passionate about intermediate care and neurosurgical care and who, together with the work team and unit manager, wants to continue driving the development of intermediate care forward. The Neurosurgical Intermediate Care Unit (NIMA) has been at USÖ for ten years. We care for both neurosurgical and general intermediate care patients. Intermediate care is an elevated level of care where our primary task is to monitor and support patients with failing vital functions. We also function as a recovery unit for patients who have undergone neurosurgery. NIMA is part of Neurocentrum at USÖ, which includes two inpatient units, NIMA, outpatient clinics, day care, and administration. Within Neurocentrum, unit managers and assistant unit managers work closely and collaboratively, supporting each other in daily operations. We also have close collaboration with the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Clinic. NIMA is located at the top of the H building and has six care beds. The staff team consists of approximately 40 people, comprising nurses and nursing assistants. We actively work on development and improvement initiatives. Job Duties As an assistant unit manager, you work closely with the unit manager and assist in responsibility for work environment, business development, and staffing, among other areas. You have a central role in the daily management of the unit and deputize for the unit manager during their absence. The position also includes clinical work as a nurse, corresponding to approximately 25-50 percent of working time, based on operational needs. Clinical hours can be scheduled for day, evening, and night shifts with reduced weekend duty. Qualifications We are seeking a licensed nurse. You are confident in your professional role and have the ability to build trust and maintain good relationships within a work team. You work in a structured and solution-focused manner and have an interest in leadership, development, and improvement work. Advantageous qualifications include: Leadership experience Experience in intermediate or intensive care Experience in neurosurgical care Application The application should include a CV and cover letter. About the Organization The neurosurgery business area consists of NIMA with six care beds and our neurosurgeons. NIMA is an intermediate care unit that handles severely ill patients in need of continuous monitoring of vital parameters and consciousness assessments but who do not require ventilator care. We also conduct pre- and postoperative monitoring for our neurosurgical patients. The neurosurgical business area is new and neurosurgery in Örebro is constantly growing and developing.
