Work Tasks
In your role as a Support Services Caseworker (Social Services & Disability Services), you work with regulatory authority and make independent assessments of individuals' needs and rights. You have an important role in ensuring that people with various disabilities and other support needs receive the right services according to applicable legislation. Your work is both legally precise and deeply human, where you meet people in different life situations.
• Handle cases according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Support and Services for Persons with Certain Disabilities (LSS)
• Investigate needs through conversations with service users, relatives, and other professionals
• Conduct structured assessments and make decisions about services in a legally secure manner
• Document cases in our activity systems with high quality and accuracy
• Collaborate with internal and external actors to create holistic solutions around the individual
• Contribute to development work, routines, and working methods within the disability and mental health areas
Qualifications
We're looking for someone with an academic foundation who wants to use your competence to make a real difference. You thrive when you can combine structure with humanity and believe it's self-evident to meet every person with respect, regardless of their life situation. You have a clear sense of legal security and enjoy having order in both regulations and documentation, while keeping the individual in focus.
We're looking for someone who has:
• A social work degree or equivalent higher education deemed relevant for work within social services
• 3 years of experience with regulatory authority within social services or similar area
• Good computer skills and confidence in working with various digital systems
• Deep understanding of and practical experience applying the Social Services Act, Disability Services Act, and other relevant legislation
• Ability to make independent assessments of needs and rights
• B-category driver's license
Meriting qualifications include:
• Experience working in mental health and disability services
• Experience in municipal operations or work in a politically governed organization
• Experience with collaboration work with regional health services, healthcare providers, and other actors
• Participation in development projects or quality work within the welfare sector
As a person, you are:
• Confident, attentive, and clear in your communication, both verbally and in writing
• Organized and responsible with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize in a day with many cases
• Solution-oriented and curious, with a willingness to contribute to the bigger picture and development in the operation
• Unpretentious with good collaboration skills who enjoy sharing knowledge with others and has an easy time building trust
• Stable even when things are busy, with a sustainable approach to work and recovery
