Social Services Case Officer (Elderly Care)

Job Description Are you a trained social worker with experience in public administration within elderly care? Vaxholm Municipality is now seeking a social services case officer for the elderly unit within the social services department. Your primary responsibilities in this role are to investigate, assess the need for support and assistance, make decisions on benefits, and follow up on interventions. You work within the social services and handle cases relating to home care services. As a case officer, you determine what service or support from the municipality is needed. Decisions are made based on applicable legislation in the field and are based on information that you, as a case officer, gather. An important part of the work is to maintain contact with those who have applied for, or are entitled to, benefits. You will often also meet their relatives or representatives. It is important that you can both communicate with the elderly/clients and are capable of making decisions that may be experienced as difficult and life-defining for the person seeking help. The elderly unit is one of three units within the public administration division of the Social Services Department. Responsibilities Caseload management within elderly care Investigate, assess, decide, and follow up on interventions in accordance with the Social Services Act (SoL) Public administration Participate in improvement work and goal-setting within the division Qualifications Degree in social work (socionom). At least 3 years of experience in public administration within elderly care. Driver's license (category B) We value that you have strong ability to express yourself well in speech and writing, are flexible, and have the ability to take personal responsibility and work independently and in an organized manner.
