Laboratory Medicine Västerbotten comprises approximately 520 employees and includes clinical pathology, clinical microbiology, infection prevention and control, clinical genetics, clinical immunology and transfusion medicine, clinical chemistry, biobank, and tissue facility. Through an agreement, we hold full responsibility for clinical pathology in Östersund, including medical leadership responsibility for immunology and transfusion medicine, clinical chemistry, and clinical microbiology. Our operations are accredited and we work according to an established quality system. At the clinical pathology laboratories, approximately 120 people work in Umeå and approximately 15 people in Östersund. Thanks to our rapid development and increasing number of analyses, staffing has been significantly expanded in recent years, and we have become a large group with strong cohesion, humor, and work satisfaction. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES As a biomedical analyst or medical biologist with us, you play an important role by delivering services and contributions that impact many. You will work both independently and in teams, where each team focuses on specific organ areas or methods such as immunohistochemistry and other molecular pathology examinations. The job with us is varied and your work duties include, among other things: · Assisting in tissue sample dissection, preparing paraffin-embedded material for molecular pathology examinations · Independent dissection, frozen section cutting, sectioning, staining, and scanning · Participating in change management and development projects Your placement will be in the Histopathology section, but you may also contribute to department-wide tasks and support other sections within Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Medicine as a whole. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is a licensed biomedical analyst, medical biologist, or has other education we consider equivalent. You have good communication and collaboration skills. You see the big picture and broader perspective with the patient in focus and the best interests of the operations in mind. You are thorough, quality-conscious, and responsible. You can work independently and in a team. You have an interest in change management and development. You master Swedish in both speech and writing.
