Laboratory Medicine Västerbotten comprises approximately 520 employees and includes clinical pathology, clinical microbiology, infection control, clinical genetics, clinical immunology and transfusion medicine, clinical chemistry, biobank and tissue establishment. Through agreement, we have overall responsibility for clinical pathology in Östersund, including medical management responsibility for immunology and transfusion medicine, clinical chemistry and clinical microbiology. Clinical Pathology is part of Laboratory Medicine, a regional organization with operations in Lycksele, Skellefteå and Umeå. The operations are accredited and we work according to the quality system that Laboratory Medicine's accreditation is based on.
At the clinical pathology laboratories, approximately 120 people work in Umeå and approximately 15 people in Östersund. Thanks to our rapid development and increasing number of analyses, staffing has increased significantly in recent years, and we have become a large group with strong cohesion, humor and job satisfaction. In Östersund, we work with patient samples from Jämtland County. We handle the histopathological process, and cancer diagnostics occurs at the cellular level with material such as various tissues and cell suspensions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a biomedical analyst or medical biologist with us, you play an important role by delivering service and contributions that impact many. You will work both independently and in teams, and the job with us is varied and your responsibilities include, among other things:
· Assist with, or independently work with tissue sample sectioning
· Sectioning, staining and scanning, frozen sectioning, and paraffin embedding
· Participate in change management and development projects
Your placement will be at the Östersund section, but you may also contribute to department-wide tasks and support other sections within Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at large.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who:
· Are a licensed biomedical analyst, medical biologist or have other education we deem equivalent.
· Have good communication and collaboration skills
· See the bigger picture and broader perspective, with the patient in focus and the organization's best interests in mind
· Are thorough, quality-conscious and responsible
· Can work independently and in teams.
· Have an interest in change management and development
· Master Swedish in both speech and writing.
· Great weight is placed on personal suitability.
