You are offered

About the position
Medical Diagnostics Karolinska (MDK) is one of Sweden's leading diagnostic centers and conducts advanced laboratory medicine diagnostics for the entire Stockholm Region. Within the medical unit Clinical Chemistry, approximately 650 employees work at eight central laboratories and numerous point-of-care laboratories and collection centers. Approximately 20 million samples are analyzed annually and around one million specimen collections are performed each year.
As a biomedical analyst in operations support at Section 9Fem, you work cross-functionally on issues related to specimen collection and pre-analytical processes. You are responsible for developing and establishing common procedures and guidelines, conducting investigations, compiling information, and providing support to operations within your area of responsibility.
You work independently but in close collaboration with colleagues, area managers, and supervisors. The role involves many contact points and requires good communication skills and a structured working approach. You are part of a small work group that handles pre-analytical processes, quality, IT, finance, customer and web support, and training matters, which means that other operations support tasks may also be included.
Improvement work and operations development are a natural part of the assignment, and you will drive development forward both independently and together with colleagues.
The position is based at Karolinska University Hospital in Solna, but the work area covers all six acute care hospitals as well as point-of-care laboratories and collection centers within Stockholm Region.
We are looking for you who
- are self-directed and take responsibility for your tasks while driving development initiatives and processes forward
- work in a structured manner and plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently
- have good collaboration skills and build trusting relationships through a responsive and unpretentious working style
- have specialist knowledge in specimen collection and pre-analytical processes and use your expertise to develop operations and support colleagues
- have a holistic perspective and understand how different parts of operations connect, which enables you to make well-founded decisions with the organization's best interests in focus.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- authorized biomedical analyst
- several years (at least five years) of professional experience in specimen collection
- experience driving and implementing improvement initiatives
- good experience working in various IT systems and the ability to quickly learn new digital tools, for example laboratory information systems
- very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
Meritorious:
- professional experience from Clinical Chemistry or other laboratory medicine operations
- experience in supervisory roles or positions
- higher academic education.
