Our Operations Clinical Microbiology is one of Akademiska Laboratory's five divisions. With 120 employees, the division carries out a broad and growing microbiological diagnostics, as well as teaching, research and development work. The operations are accredited according to ISO 15189 and environmentally certified according to ISO 14001. In addition to public and private healthcare providers in Uppsala County, we perform specialized analyses for customers in the Uppsala-Örebro region. This includes the regions of Dalarna, Gävleborg, Uppsala, Värmland, Västmanland, and Örebro. Your Mission As a licensed biomedical analyst at the Bacteriology Department, your main task is laboratory work with a focus on culture-based diagnostics. Here you work with manual and automated culturing of patient samples, as well as species and resistance determination. For bacterial identification, analysis instruments and manual methods are used, and culture plates are interpreted through visual inspection. Together with other professional categories, such as specialist physicians and microbiologists, you work on daily operations and development projects. The work is performed on weekdays during daytime and on weekends. Your Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed biomedical analyst. Previous experience with culture diagnostics is meritorious. Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing is a requirement for the position, as the work involves communication, documentation, and quality assurance. Your Competencies As an accredited operation, everything we do is characterized by quality assurance and traceability. Therefore, we place great importance on your personal suitability. We are looking for someone who is stable, organized, and has good teamwork skills. You have the ability to handle unexpected situations in a calm and analytical manner.
