About the position
Our Cytology Laboratory receives various types of cytological samples that are prepared and stained for microscopic assessment. The results from the analyses are crucial for making the correct diagnosis and also form the basis for choosing the most appropriate treatment.
With us, you will be part of a team consisting of cytodiagnosticians, biomedical analysts, laboratory engineers, and laboratory assistants who together are responsible for the entire analysis process – from registration and sample preparation to diagnostics. You will also work closely with our cytology physicians.
Your duties as a biomedical analyst at the Cytology Laboratory include, among other things:
handling, preparing, and staining cytological samples
performing molecular laboratory analyses according to current methods, quality requirements, and procedures
working with laboratory equipment and contributing to the development and improvement of the laboratory's methods
documenting analysis results and ensuring traceability according to applicable quality and documentation requirements
when needed, assisting in diagnostics by performing differential counts of inflammatory cells and answering bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) samples.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Licensed biomedical analyst
Experience working in diagnostic laboratory operations
Experience working according to quality systems, standardized work methods, and applicable regulations in laboratory medicine
Fluency in Swedish, both spoken and written
Meritorious:
Experience working in cytology or pathology
Experience with immunocytochemical methods or molecular diagnostics
Experience with quality work, method development, and validation of laboratory methods
Experience working in accredited laboratory operations according to relevant quality standards, ISO15189
Good knowledge of morphology.
