Precision Medicine Laboratory (PL) is an operation that was established on January 1, 2023 as part of gathering molecular biology expertise within the Diagnostics Center to further increase the power to drive development in this field forward. The operation's mission is to perform and develop molecular biology analyses for all specialty clinics within laboratory medicine, such as pathology, genetics, microbiology, pharmacology, chemistry, and immunology and transfusion medicine.
Work within the operation is varied with good development opportunities and takes place in an environment that is at the forefront regarding both analyses and instrumentation. The operation is research-intensive and method and operational development are a natural part of the work.

Job Description
You will be part of our daily operations and may work with different areas and techniques within the assignment area of Precision Medicine Laboratory (PL). The basic work of registering samples and results, sending samples to other laboratories, and other tasks that are part of laboratory work is a natural part of the job.
Currently, there is a need for employees who primarily perform analyses within the specialty area of clinical genetics. The laboratory performs analyses regarding fetal diagnostics and diagnostics of genetically determined diseases and syndromes. Methods used include DNA extraction, Sanger sequencing, microarray, chromosome analysis, NGS, and more, as well as analysis and interpretation of molecular data. You will receive structured introduction and training in the methods and work tasks included in the position.
Working with us is varied and stimulating, and you get to work in an area in rapid development where new research findings are translated into clinical diagnostics. We work interprofessionally in close collaboration with, for example, clinical geneticists and doctors in clinical genetics, pathology, and microbiology, as well as other specialties within laboratory medicine.
Work Team
At PL, just over 30 employees work, primarily hospital biologists, biomedical analysts, and bioinformaticians. The work team has high combined expertise and several of our employees are PhD holders. We work in close collaboration and actively share knowledge and experience to develop both the operation and each other.
About You
For this position, a degree in biology or equivalent, or BMA certification is required.
Experience with molecular biology analyses is a merit. We would like to see that you have an interest in molecular diagnostics and want to develop in this field.
You speak and write Swedish and English fluently. The working language is Swedish.
