Librarian with Systems Administration Experience

As a librarian at GIH, you will have a key role in supporting the university's teachers and researchers and advancing quality initiatives. We are currently looking for a substitute librarian responsible for systems administration at the GIH Library. About the Job The Department of Information, Communication, and Library is part of GIH's administration and currently consists of 14 people. In addition to the library, the department's activities include an archive, records management, ICT pedagogue, research advisor, and GIH's communications function. The library currently has four librarians who all work together and contribute to the overall operation while having different areas of responsibility. You will be responsible for the ongoing operation of the library's systems as well as work with registration and records management in the institution's repository DiVA. System responsibility includes contact with vendors, troubleshooting, reporting errors to the IT department or vendor, managing updates, and assisting colleagues in the use of systems. Other tasks in the department, such as service at the library's information desk, may also be included. About You We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a smaller organization and appreciates varied, challenging, and creative tasks. As a person, it is important that you easily grasp new assignments, are self-driven, and have a good ability to plan and structure your work. To succeed in this role, you should have a relevant academic degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent as the employer deems appropriate for the position. You are technically inclined and have good analytical skills. You are an excellent educator and have an easy way of building good relationships, and are otherwise very good at collaboration. You have experience working in a systems administration role at a library. Experience with Koha, DiVA, and the discovery tool EDS is a merit. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. About the Employment The employment is a substitute position at 50% with a planned duration through December 31, 2027. Start date as soon as possible, by agreement.
