JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are looking for someone who wants to work as a librarian at Kungshögsskolan and possibly at other schools in our catchment area. As a librarian, you are an integral part of the pedagogical activities at the schools. Your responsibilities include, for example: • monitoring and developing operations in dialogue with the principal, other librarians, teaching staff, and students in accordance with the curriculum and municipal goals and guidelines • designing an appropriate library collection and programs based on school type, student age, prerequisites, school focus, or programs • collaborating with and supporting teaching staff in reading and language development and literacy promotion methods in order to inspire students' reading interest and share your expertise in information seeking, search skills, source criticism, and source reliability • providing support for students in need of accommodations or special support and providing materials that facilitate student learning and reading interest, and promoting students' need for reading in their native language and making students' multilingualism and national minority languages visible • protecting student privacy in school library operations in accordance with applicable legislation • when needed, providing support to teaching staff to encourage guardians to read together with their children • handling practical tasks such as lending and returning materials, guiding and helping students with practical information and literature searching, placing orders, organizing. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who preferably has a degree from higher education in library and information science, or alternatively a degree from another relevant higher education program. It is desirable that you have experience working in libraries. It is desirable that you are communicative, sociable, and flexible, with good interpersonal skills. Computer skills are a merit. Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: The position is a substitute role at 75–100% until December 22, 2027. Start date October 26, 2026; earlier dates are negotiable.
