The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also administers closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create vital change.
SiS youth home Bergsmansgården serves non-school-age girls. We have operations in Fjugesta, three miles west of Örebro, and a satellite unit in Gammelbo, three miles north of Lindesberg. The girls come to us because they have psychosocial problems as well as issues with criminal behavior or substance abuse.
Job Description
Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then a position as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the youth and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work and provide support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans.
Documentation is an important part of your work; it contributes to legal security, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our routines and participate in ensuring that daily activities run smoothly—schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Contact person responsibilities are also among your duties. The work may also include being a mentor to new employees and interns. This is a job for someone who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, rewarding, and varied.
Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, commitment, and attitude.
Working hours are scheduled—day, evening, and weekend shifts.
As a new employee, you will complete a 10-week SiS foundation training program. The training alternates theory with supervised introduction and equips you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
