The Elderly Administration is responsible for city-wide matters concerning elderly care, and for coordinating, developing, and monitoring elderly care in the city in dialogue with the district committees. Welcome to us The Elderly Administration has approximately 180 employees and consists of four departments and one independent unit: Stockholm's Safety Hotline, the department for city-wide elderly care matters, the department for digitalization and IT, the administrative department, and the unit for communication, external relations, and emergency preparedness. We are responsible for, among other things, questions regarding regulatory authority, planning, monitoring, digitalization, health and medical care, and education. We are now seeking an experienced emergency preparedness strategist who wants to work in an organization with great opportunities to develop and strengthen elderly care's emergency preparedness. You will analyze and provide suggestions on how new legislation and new requirements can be converted into practically usable solutions for elderly care operations while also contributing to Stockholm's city's overall emergency preparedness capacity. You will work in close collaboration with district administrations, specialized departments, and the city management office. Together with the Elderly Administration's security coordinator, you will stay informed about emergency preparedness and security matters as well as civil defense issues to be able to advise management on these matters. Your work is largely strategic, but as part of the unit for communication, external relations, and emergency preparedness and the Elderly Administration's crisis organization, you need to be prepared for rapid adjustments and operational work. You will work with, among other things: Interpreting new legislation in the emergency preparedness field and how it affects especially elderly care and social services Converting new legislation and new requirements into practically feasible measures within elderly care and social services Planning and conducting exercises Project management and group leadership Participating in the Elderly Administration's crisis management (for example, as chief of staff) Together with, among others, the security coordinator at the Elderly Administration, conduct planning for crisis and heightened emergency preparedness Your competence and experience We are looking for you who have: Relevant education for the position from a university or college, for example in security, emergency preparedness, political science, or another area that the employer considers equivalent multiple years of experience working in a relevant role with a focus on emergency preparedness and crisis management, for example as an investigator, strategist, or emergency preparedness coordinator very good ability to communicate both orally and in writing We consider it meritorious if you have: experience working with emergency preparedness and/or civil defense matters within municipal operations or government agencies good knowledge of current and upcoming legislation in the emergency preparedness field affecting municipalities, including the Act on Civil Protection, the Act on Crisis Preparedness and Civil Protection, and the Act on Total Defense and Heightened Preparedness We will place great emphasis on personal qualities, suitability, commitment, and motivation for the position.
