About the Operations Do you want to help strengthen society's ability to handle crises and ultimately war? Region Dalarna is now seeking an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator who wants to be part of developing our civil preparedness and resilience in an increasingly complex global situation. As an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, you will work with planning, coordinating, developing, and following up on the region's civil preparedness efforts. The assignment involves developing and ensuring that Region Dalarna can handle disruptions across the entire threat spectrum. You will be part of a team of emergency preparedness coordinators in the Safety and Preparedness Department and work closely with both operations and management. You report to the Security Chief and work in close collaboration with the team leader and colleagues. The position is located in the Safety and Preparedness Department. Work Tasks You contribute to maintaining and developing the region's overall preparedness capacity by: - contributing to ensuring the region's goals and regulatory compliance are met - participating in the development and creation of preparedness plans and other governing documents - developing information for prioritization and decision-making - supporting the region's work with risk and vulnerability analyses (RSA) and continuity planning - following up on identified measures and development initiatives - exercising, training, and participating in the region's crisis management organization - contributing to a unified regional situational picture The work encompasses strategic, tactical, and operational components, with emphasis on planning, coordination, and follow-up. Most work tasks aim to support and strengthen the region's critical services. During special events, you participate in staff work according to your role. You work in a shared team where assignments are distributed based on needs and priorities. The role involves close collaboration with the region's operations as well as external stakeholders. You are expected to take initiative, drive issues forward, and contribute to the larger picture—even when assignments and priorities change rapidly. Qualifications We are looking for someone with: - relevant higher education or equivalent experience in crisis preparedness, societal security, or a related field - experience working in the public sector or another complex organization - experience with RSA, continuity planning, or similar governance processes - strong ability to analyze, structure, and translate requirements into practical work - good collaboration and coordination skills It is meritorious if you have: - experience with staff work or crisis management - good knowledge of healthcare, conducting such operations under disrupted conditions, and disaster medicine - good knowledge of relevant legislation in the field To succeed in this role, you need to: - be structured and analytical - have strong ability to collaborate and build trust - be able to work both long-term and handle rapid changes - take responsibility for driving the work forward in collaboration with others With us, you will get a meaningful assignment where you contribute to strengthening society's robustness and security.
