Nursing Staff Assignment with the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

Location: Skåne Employment Type: Fixed-term Contract / Consultant Assignment Scope: Full-time (or by agreement) Period: October 1, 2026 – October 1, 2027 (1 year) About the Assignment Would you like to work in a unique, structured, and exciting environment where your clinical expertise truly makes a difference? We are now seeking a confident and independent registered nurse for an extended assignment within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service in Skåne. The assignment spans a full year – starting October 1, 2026 through October 1, 2027. Within the Prison and Probation Service's healthcare operations, you will encounter a broad spectrum of care needs. The work is varied and includes everything from basic somatic care and acute assessments to psychiatric interventions and counseling. Duties - Independent assessments, triage, and treatment of inmates' health conditions. - Medication management and administration. - Planning and implementation of scheduled care as well as management of acute care needs. - Collaboration with correctional staff, physicians, psychiatry, and external healthcare providers. - Documentation in accordance with applicable legislation and procedures. Qualifications - Licensed registered nurse with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience. - Experience in acute care, psychiatry, primary care, or previous work within the Prison and Probation Service is highly desirable. - You feel confident in your professional role and have strong ability to make independent clinical assessments. - You have a professional demeanor, good collaboration skills, and speak and write Swedish fluently. (Note: Valid security clearance including background check will be completed before employment/start).
