About Us Kolbacken HVB is located north of Tierp, in a small community surrounded by a calm and rural environment. We receive boys ages 13–17 who need support in breaking negative behavior patterns and finding functioning strategies for their everyday lives. It is a family-like, smaller residential care facility with 4-5 places. Our young people often have NPF in combination with complex behavioral issues. This might include difficulties with social interaction, impulse control, emotion regulation, handling demands, and following rules and agreements. The young people may also have experience with inappropriate environments, norm-breaking behavior, hostility, early criminal activity, and/or certain risky substance use. Therefore, we're looking for someone who understands NPF and how neuropsychiatric functional impairments can affect a young person's behavior, communication, and ability to handle everyday demands. About the Role As a treatment educator/social pedagogue, you are an important part of the young people's daily lives and treatment work. You work closely with the young people and use your knowledge to create structure, predictability, and secure relationships. Our treatment work is based on CBT, with individual treatment components carried out in a structured way each week. The work includes, among other things, conversations, various training areas, and clear feedback. You will, among other things: build safe and professional relationships with the young people implement knowledge about NPF into a clear, low-affect, and individually adapted approach help young people develop strategies for emotions, impulses, social interaction, and everyday demands work in a structured manner based on the young person's individual treatment plan provide clear and constructive feedback work closely with colleagues and contribute to a shared approach collaborate with schools, social services, guardians, and healthcare. Who Are We Looking For? We're looking for someone who is confident, committed, and genuinely interested in young people with NPF and complex issues. You find it easy to build relationships, but are at the same time clear and professional. You understand that the same approach doesn't work for everyone and can adapt your communication style to the young person's needs and circumstances. We see that you have: relevant post-secondary education, such as social worker, behavioral scientist, treatment educator, teacher, or social pedagogue experience working with children and young people with similar issues knowledge and experience of NPF, such as ADHD and autism an understanding of how NPF can affect behavior, emotion regulation, social interaction, and everyday functioning experience working with young people with complex behavioral issues a structured and solution-focused approach good collaboration skills and enjoy working in a team genuine commitment to change work. Experience working with children and young people with NPF and complex behavioral issues is particularly important to us and will carry significant weight in the selection process.
