The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also operates secure youth care. We do this at youth institutions and facilities for adults with substance abuse problems throughout the country. Job Description Would you like to be part of SiS's expansion and create vital change for vulnerable people? Then working as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work and provide daily support. Using your knowledge of care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal certainty, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You help maintain security according to our procedures and you contribute to ensuring that daily life runs smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Case management is also one of your responsibilities. The work may also include being a mentor to new employees and interns. Working hours are scheduled with day and evening shifts and every other weekend. As a new employee, you will complete SiS's 10-week foundational training. The training combines theory with supervised introduction and equips you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a firmly grounded positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS's values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a strong ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an ease in building relationships with young people as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive way. You must also have: - At least a diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university that we consider equivalent - Category B driving license - Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written It is meritorious if you have: - Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS (disability) care - Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison Service, e.g., as a correctional officer - Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young girls, etc.) At SiS, we value good employee collaboration.
