Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? If so, a position as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. SiS youth home Ljungaskog is planning to start a new department/expand our department in Helsingborg and is therefore seeking treatment pedagogues. As a treatment pedagogue in our discharge preparation department, you become an important part of young people's journey toward a more independent life. The department is part of the youth home, but you work closely with the young people in their daily lives in a residence outside the youth home's premises. You work in a team together with other treatment pedagogues, a group leader, and a treatment secretary. The department is led by a unit manager. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the young people living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. Young people in our discharge preparation departments will live and spend their leisure time in apartments or other housing outside the youth home. The young people attend external schools or have internships. Your focus is to support young people in establishing and maintaining functional strategies and skills for life outside the youth home. You follow and support young people in activities such as school/internships and in contact with, for example, healthcare services, but also during leisure time and at home with practical and social matters. Treatment activities consist mainly of skills training aimed at preparing young people for a functional life after their time at SiS, both practically and socially. Skills training also involves implementing new strategies developed in treatment into everyday life outside the youth home. Your role is to be a secure adult support, to guide and create structure in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in social care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, and you contribute, among other things, to legal certainty, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You also contribute to maintaining security according to our procedures. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable children and young people who are on their way back to life outside the youth home. Working hours are according to schedule – day, evening, and weekends. Qualifications for Treatment Pedagogue To succeed in your work, you have a firmly grounded positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS values, to be a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are confident and have an easy time building relationships with young people as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive manner. You should also have: Diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/educational treatment work or education from a university that we assess as equivalent. Class B driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, for example, work in psychiatry or in LSS care Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency Education in social work or care and welfare Experience working at SiS Employment: The position is a permanent full-time position and begins with a six-month probationary period.
