The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. The institution has the mandate to provide care for girls with special care needs. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then working as a treatment educator at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment educator, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified nursing and motivational work and providing support in daily life. Drawing on your knowledge of care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal certainty, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You contribute to maintaining security according to our routines and you help ensure that daily life runs smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Mentoring is also one of your work tasks. The work may also include serving as a mentor to new staff members and interns. We are hiring for permanent positions, temporary contracts, and hourly positions. As a new permanently employed staff member, you will complete a 10-week SiS basic training program. The training alternates theory with guided introduction, equipping you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications for Treatment Educator To succeed in your work, you have a firmly grounded positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a strong ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are confident in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts constructively. You must also have: Diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) with a focus on social/educational treatment work or education from a university that we consider equivalent Category B driver's license Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written At SiS, we value good collegial relationships.
