Your responsibilities
As a treatment assistant, you will work in a motivating way with clients and provide support in various life areas such as substance abuse, mental health, housing, family, finances, and finding meaningful leisure activities. The work includes collaboration with other professionals, as well as documentation, reporting, and follow-up of cases. You will serve as a contact person and take responsibility for the tasks that come with this role. You will also have delegation for medication distribution and perform other health and medical care-related tasks.
To provide effective support to our target group, it is important that you have a relationship-building and stable approach. You see possibilities even in complex life situations and are decisive and clear when needed. You should also have the ability to handle challenging behavior.
Working hours are full-time, with a schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
Your qualifications
You have a YH/KY education as a treatment assistant/social pedagogue or education as a nursing assistant with a focus on psychiatry or similar, as the employer finds relevant for the position. We see that you have previous experience working with substance abuse or mental health disabilities and good digital skills with a habit of documenting. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as much of the work involves documentation.
We are looking for someone with a solution-focused approach who is motivated by meeting people with motivational needs. You are stable and confident in your role and can distinguish between the personal and professional in relationships with our clients. You are calm and composed and have the ability to maintain your focus on what matters in pressured situations. You are also flexible and adaptable to new and unexpected circumstances.
Since driving is part of the job, a Class B driver's license is required. You also have a good understanding of and share the values that underpin the municipality's operations.

Adelsö is one of 8 residential facilities within the Unit for Support and Housing, under the Individual and Family Administration in Västerås City. Adelsö offers 15 permanent places for people with harmful substance use, addiction, and co-occurring disorders. At Adelsö, you will provide support and assistance to clients who have support needs in their daily lives. Clients' support needs may vary depending on mental or physical health issues or other social difficulties, but with the client in focus, we always work for the best possible meeting. Here you get the chance to develop your ability to handle communicative and relational challenges with clients, work structurally in clients' care plans, and drive the operations forward.

At the time of interview, you need to verify your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or personal certificate together with an ID document.
