The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is an agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and adults with substance abuse problems. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then working as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. We are currently recruiting hourly temporary staff at SiS Långanäs! As a treatment assistant, you work in a team with treatment educators and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the youth (non-compulsory school age boys) living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often work with people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation efforts and provide daily support. With your knowledge of care and treatment work, you actively contribute to implementing treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our procedures and contribute to ensuring daily routines run smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Therefore, you need a strong ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, strong empathetic ability, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and willingly share your knowledge with colleagues. Qualifications: At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area. - Exceptions to the requirement for at least two years of post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Section 5, Chapter 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468). Class B driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing Meritorious qualifications: Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Correctional Service, e.g., Correctional Officer Security guard training Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, e.g., handler at the Detention Unit Education in care and health services Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young boys) At SiS, we value good employee engagement. We also provide 3 days of introduction that must be completed before you can work directly with clients, plus shadowing with regular staff. Work hours are scheduled day, evening, and weekend shifts as well as nights.
