The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Margretelund receives non-compulsory school age girls and boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. We have operations in Lidköping and near Falköping. Job Description Do you want to help make a vital difference for vulnerable people? Then working as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth and clients toward new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that departmental routines function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our youth and clients, and you are responsible for the basics of daily life such as schooling, cleaning, meal preparation, and more. You work to maintain order and security at the institution according to our procedures. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work to build secure relationships and help our youth and clients gain the security they need to break established patterns of behavior. Together with your team of committed colleagues such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. Working hours are scheduled including days, evenings, and weekends. As a new employee, you will complete SiS basic training over 10 weeks. The training combines theory with guided introduction and equips you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, strong empathetic ability, and an ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues. You must also have: At least 2 years of post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or other relevant subject area.* Class B driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing It is also advantageous if you have: Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, such as a prison officer Security guard training Education in care and health services Experience working with our target group At SiS, we value good professional relationships.
