Description:

SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården accepts non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården has just undergone an organizational change, transitioning from LVM care to LVU care, and is now in an exciting expansion phase. Currently, the institution comprises four units but will expand to more during the coming year. We are focusing on staff density and expanding our team, which is why we are now recruiting additional staff for our operations. SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården operates outside Falköping. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then working as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. You work in a team with trained treatment pedagogues, operational leaders, and the night unit manager. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the young people living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal protection, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You help maintain security according to our procedures and contribute to continuously improving SiS. We are now recruiting new night shift staff as we have expanded our staffing capacity. Our operations run 24/7 (around the clock, every day of the week). As a night shift worker, you are responsible for the young people's well-being and safety, with a primary focus on promoting their sleep routines and being available when needed. Night is often the most challenging time of day, and sleep problems are very common among our young people, which is why a secure adult who can offer support through conversation or other means is a crucial piece of the puzzle. The work can vary greatly in intensity—from very calm nights to nights that demand much of you as a treatment assistant. You always work awake on night shifts with us on shifts arranged approximately between 21:00-08:45, varying slightly depending on weekdays or weekends. You work according to a rotating schedule in a team with several other treatment assistants and pedagogues. This is a position for you if you see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. The position may also include being a mentor for new staff and serving as an alarm coordinator during night hours. As a new employee, you will complete SiS basic training over 10 weeks. The training combines theory with guided introduction and equips you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications Your personal suitability is the key to vital change. Therefore, you need a strong ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and the ability to build good relationships while being clear about maintaining rules. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues. You must also have: - At least 2 years of post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.* - B-category driver's license - Fluent Swedish, spoken and written Below are examples of meriting requirements that can be used in recruitment (select what fits your specific recruitment process): - Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, youth psychiatry, etc.) At SiS, we value good workplace culture.
