Sweden's most beautiful workplace is seeking a Boat Operator (temporary position) stationed in Visby Working as a Boat Operator As a Boat Operator, you are responsible for conducting sea transports and, where applicable, land transports and transports on/over ice. The work includes care and maintenance of the Swedish Maritime Administration's property and equipment. The position includes participation in maritime rescue operations, for which we provide specialized training. Operations run 24/7 year-round, which means day, evening, and night shifts may occur. The pilot boat is staffed by two Boat Operators, one serving as Captain and one as Mate/Deckhand. To serve as Mate, you must have at least Officer of the Watch Class VII certification and complete internal training. To serve as Captain, you must have at least Officer of the Watch Class VI certification and complete internal training. Sweden is divided into nine pilot transport areas along our long coastline. We are now seeking two boat operators for the Southeast Pilot Transport Area, stationed in Visby. In addition to Visby, Kalmar and Oskarshamn are included in the pilot transport area. Who are you? You must meet the following requirements: at least Officer of the Watch Class VII certification (not limited to inland waters) at least Engineer Officer Class VIII certification Basic Safety certificate at least ROC certificate medical certificate for seafarers (deck duties in unlimited waters) Category B driver's license (manual transmission vehicle) good skills in reading and speaking Swedish and English good skills in working with maintenance systems good ability to perform technical service and maintenance. It is meritorious if you have good skills in operating small vessels (approximately 10–40 meters in length) and Officer of the Watch Class VI certification. The position may require Swedish citizenship. A security clearance with background check may be conducted before an employment offer is made. You must provide proof of certifications, certificates, and medical certificate by enclosing a current maritime service report from the Swedish Transport Agency.
