Sweden's most beautiful workplace is seeking a Boat Operator (permanent position) based in Marstrand Working as a Boat Operator As a Boat Operator, you are responsible for conducting maritime transport and, where applicable, land transport and transport over/across ice. The work includes maintenance and care of the Swedish Maritime Administration's property and equipment. The position includes participating in maritime rescue operations, for which we offer specialized further training. Operations run 24/7 year-round, which means day, evening, and night shifts according to work schedules. The pilot boat is staffed by two Boat Operators, one serving as captain and one as first mate/deckhand. To serve as first mate, you must have at least Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (Class VII) certification and completed internal training. To serve as captain, you must have at least Master (Class VI) certification and completed internal training. Sweden is divided into nine pilot transport areas along our long coastline. We are now seeking a boat operator for the West Pilot Transport Area with a duty station in Marstrand. In addition to Marstrand, Lysekil is also included in the pilot transport area. Who are you? You must meet the following requirements: - at least Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (Class VII) certification (not restricted to inland waters) - at least Chief Engineer (Class VIII) certification - Basic Safety certificate - at least ROC certificate - medical certificate for seafarers (unlimited deck service) - Category B driver's license (manual transmission vehicle) - good skills in reading and speaking Swedish and English - good skills in working with maintenance systems - good ability to perform technical service and maintenance It is advantageous if you have good skills in operating smaller vessels (approximately 10–40 meters in length) and Master (Class VI) certification. The position may require Swedish citizenship. Security vetting with background check may be conducted before an employment offer.
