Sweden's most beautiful workplace is seeking Boat Crew Members (fixed-term employment as needed) with placement at one of our nine pilot transport areas Working as a Boat Crew Member As a Boat Crew Member, you are responsible for conducting maritime transports and, where applicable, land and ice transports. The work includes maintenance and care of the Swedish Maritime Administration's property and equipment. The position includes participating in sea rescue operations, for which we offer specialized training. Operations run 24/7 year-round. As an hourly substitute, you need to be flexible and ready to step in when needed, which may be during daytime, evenings, and weekends. The pilot boat is staffed by two Boat Crew Members, one as captain and one as mate/deckhand. To serve as mate, you must have at least Certificate of Competency Class VII and complete internal training. To serve as captain, you must have at least Certificate of Competency Class VI and complete internal training. Who Are You? You must meet the following requirements: - At least Certificate of Competency Class VII (not limited to inland waters) - At least Chief Engineer Certificate Class VIII - Basic Safety Certificate - At least ROC Certificate - Medical certificate for seafarers (unlimited maritime deck service) - Category B driving license (manual transmission vehicle) - Good proficiency in reading and speaking Swedish and English - Good proficiency working in maintenance systems It is advantageous if you have: - Good proficiency in operating small vessels (approximately 10–40 meters in length) - Certificate of Competency Class VI We place great importance on your personal qualities. The position may require Swedish citizenship. Security vetting with background check may be conducted before a job offer is made. You must provide evidence of qualifications, certificates, and medical certificate by attaching a current maritime service statement from the Swedish Transport Agency.
