Childcare Worker/Preschool Teacher Needed at I Ur och Skur Forsen

I Ur och Skur Forsen preschool is now seeking a substitute childcare worker or preschool teacher at 80%. The position runs from August 17 to December 31, 2026, with opportunities for continued substitute work in the spring. I Ur och Skur Forsen is an independent preschool and school in the idyllic Sikfors area, licensed by Friluftsfrämjandet to operate I Ur och Skur activities. This means we use I Ur och Skur methods to achieve curriculum goals. Our preschool and school are located in a beautiful natural setting with forest and water nearby. We have farms and facilities that we adapt based on children's interests. Together, we create indoor and outdoor environments where children's imagination and curiosity can flourish freely. The preschool has two classrooms with approximately 15 children per classroom, ages 1-5. You will be part of a team where we collectively take responsibility for all children's development and learning. We strive to see the sparkle in children's eyes as they discover and experience with all their senses, alongside adults who co-discover, co-explore, co-experience, and co-create. WORK TASKS Your responsibilities will include implementing and documenting activities based on governing documents and creating a safe, educational environment where children, their learning, and development are central. QUALIFICATIONS We prefer that you are a trained childcare worker or licensed preschool teacher. We value someone who is creative, responsible, positive, flexible, and has strong collaboration skills. You should have the ability to inspire engagement and work satisfaction. We also place great importance on maintaining a professional approach and manner with children, colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders. In the spectacular idyllic setting of Sikfors lies I Ur och Skur Forsen, which since 2006 has been an independent school offering Friluftsfrämjandet's I Ur och Skur pedagogy from preschool through year 6. Here, approximately 40 students from preschool to year 6 learn in mixed-age groups. The school's staff consists of 6 educators. The preschool is divided into two classrooms with approximately 15 children in each group. The preschool staff consists of a total of 8 educators. At I Ur och Skur Forsen, we follow Friluftsfrämjandet's outdoor schools known as Knopp, Knytte, Mulle, and Strövare. The pedagogical content of these outdoor schools is adapted to children's ages, where children's need for knowledge, movement, and community are satisfied through time spent in nature year-round. Conscious educators ensure that children's needs are met in the best possible way. The school offers small classes, which creates a harmonious and calm learning environment. The school's board is responsible for the company's operations and meets at least four times per year. Shareholders meet once per year at the annual general meeting. All board work is done on a voluntary basis, and no dividend distributions are made. Any surplus profit goes directly back to the organization.
