The Children and Education Administration works on behalf of the Preschool Committee and Primary School Committee. The administration is responsible for preschool activities, school childcare, primary school, and adapted primary school. The childcare worker position is at Vårbacka School, a grades F–3 school in Vårby Gård with approximately 110 students and 20 dedicated employees. We have high expectations for our students and place learning at the forefront. The school is characterized by a multicultural student group and a warm, professional team that works for safety and academic focus through shared structures and close collaboration. Vårbacka School is part of a principal area together with two other schools, which provides good opportunities for development and collegial learning. About the Work We are looking for a childcare worker with experience working with students with autism, ADHD, or similar needs. You have a calm and stable approach, work systematically, and have a strong ability to create a sense of security. You thrive in a team where we work with clear pedagogy, low-emotional responsiveness, and individual strategies. Experience from primary school or a special education group is highly desirable. As a childcare worker in our special education group F–3, you work closely with teachers and student support services to create a safe, structured, and predictable learning environment for students with autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental variations throughout the students' day, both in school and during after-school programs. The role includes: Supporting students in daily schoolwork, both individually and in small groups, based on their needs and abilities. Working with clear pedagogy, visual support structures, and other adaptations that facilitate the student's understanding and participation. Contributing to creating and maintaining routines, structure, and predictability in instruction and throughout the school day and after-school activities. Supporting students in social interaction, communication, and emotional regulation through a professional and low-emotional approach. Preventing and managing challenging situations in a calm, stable, and respectful manner, in accordance with shared strategies and the student's individual plan. Carrying out practical activities and tasks, such as recess support, transitions, lessons, and after-school programs. Working closely with teachers, special educators, and guardians to ensure that the student's needs are met in the best way possible. Contributing to a safe and inclusive climate where students are given the opportunity to succeed and develop according to their own abilities. About You You have childcare worker training or equivalent. You have experience working with students with neurodevelopmental variations in a school setting. You can express yourself fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is desirable if you have experience working with TAKK, sign language as an alternative and supplementary communication. You have a student perspective characterized by respect and belief that all students can and want to develop. Since the work is varied and often unpredictable, you need to be stress-resilient and have the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
