In addition to direct support for vulnerable people, Barnmissionen works on development issues with particular emphasis on entrepreneurship, education, health and advocacy work. Are you our new Project Controller? As Project Controller at Barnmissionen, you are responsible for monitoring, analyzing and reporting on the finances of our international projects and programs. You support the International Department and accounting manager, ensure correct reporting, monitor budgets and identify risks. The role combines operational work with the development of routines and processes, to ensure efficient and controlled use of resources and high quality in our initiatives. Key responsibilities Budgeting, financial planning, monitoring and analysis of international projects and programs together with the International Department and accounting manager. Ensure proper handling and reporting of grants from institutional donors and compliance with internal and external financial guidelines. Support the International Department and regional office in financial matters, project applications, agreements and decisions. Prepare forecasts, analyze deviations and report to internal and external stakeholders. Review financial reports from partner organizations and contribute to quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Participate in developing and improving routines, templates and processes for project and program finance, as well as for Barnmissionen's finances. Assist with internal and external audits and serve as a contact person with auditors and donors. Contribute to the development of effective systems for financial management and conduct internal training in areas such as anti-corruption, contracts and procurement. Be involved in the daily work of an accounting department. Participate in follow-up visits to countries of operation and the daily work of the accounting department. Relationship to other functions At Barnmissionen there is an accounting manager who is responsible for ongoing accounting work, including bookkeeping, accounting, financial statements and payroll management. The Project Controller is responsible for monitoring and analysis of project and program finances, budget work and reporting to donors and support to the organization on financial matters. The roles complement each other by together ensuring both correct accounting and effective financial management. Competency requirements and experience Relevant academic education in accounting, finance or similar field. Several years of experience in budget work, financial monitoring and reporting, preferably in aid, international development work or project-financed activities. Strong analytical ability and experience handling complex financial issues. Experience with grant-financed activities and reporting to government or institutional donors. Ability to work in a structured and independent manner. Good communication skills and experience explaining financial matters in an educational way. Meritorious Experience with accounting work in a non-profit organization or aid work. Experience with international projects including budgeting and accounting in multiple currencies. Many of Barnmissionen's partner organizations have a Christian value base and work with social justice, support for the vulnerable and human rights. Several collaborate with churches and local congregations to reach the most vulnerable.
