Description Do you want to work with children and young people's reading in the heart of Hälsingland? Now you have the opportunity to apply for an exciting and creative position as a children's librarian. We are a team of 10 people who work closely together, and you will be part of a subject team consisting of two other children's librarians and two assistants. The subject team collaborates on the entire target group of children and young people, and together plans and develops the activities. We believe that children and young people deserve 50% of the space, 50% of the staff, and 50% of the media budget. Bollnäs Library is centrally located in Bollnäs in the Cultural Quarter, together with a cultural center and music school, among others. Job Responsibilities Your responsibilities include, in addition to standard librarian duties: Evaluate and develop the library's activities together with the subject team. Responsible for reading promotion work with the age group 6-12 years. Plan and participate in activities such as family Saturdays. Receive school visits. Scheduled shifts where you guide and assist visitors with library matters such as digital inclusion and information and literature searches. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree in Library and Information Science or similar higher education that the employer considers equivalent. You have experience working with children of various ages and enjoy doing so. You are knowledgeable about contemporary children's literature, children's cultural habits, and you believe that children's participation is both important and necessary. You are curious about new ways of working and have broad digital skills. As a person, you are social and confident; you enjoy working with and speaking to both groups of children and colleagues. You will work as part of a subject team with shared responsibility for the children's section and youth section, as well as with associations and other stakeholders. To succeed in this role, you need to be unpretentious, have a natural ability to collaborate, and not be afraid to drive processes on your own. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
