1 position(s). Want to make a difference early, before problems escalate? Looking for a unique role where you meet young people in their own environment and tailor your support to their specific needs? Do you believe, as we do, that close collaboration between schools, social services, and families is key to creating safety and providing the right support at the right time? We can offer you an important, challenging, and meaningful position as a Child and Youth Counselor for Preventive Work in our school social work team. You will be met with a welcoming work environment, short decision-making processes, and a municipality where quality of life is in focus. About the Role With us, you will have an important role in strengthening children's and young people's living conditions through preventive work, relationship-building interventions, and close collaboration between schools, social services, and other stakeholders. As a Child and Youth Counselor, you work preventively and supportively with children and young people at risk of encountering difficulties, for example through mental health challenges, antisocial behavior, or psychosocial issues. The work is highly varied and characterized by high availability, flexibility, and relationship-building interventions where you meet the child or young person in their own environment where needs and resources exist. You work from implementation plans that you develop together with the family, and actively work to motivate change and support the young person in following through on ongoing interventions. When needed, you also refer them to other relevant contacts within healthcare or schools. The position also includes documentation in our journal system. This position also offers a unique opportunity to shape the future, as you become an important part in the launch and development of the municipality's brand new school social work team. You will work closely with schools, culture and recreation services, and other collaboration partners to identify needs early and create the right support at the right time. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another relevant degree at the basic university level, as well as previous experience working with children, young people, and families. It is advantageous if you have experience with treatment, network work, or experience with young people displaying antisocial behavior. Since the position involves driving, a class B driver's license is required. As a person, you are skilled at building relationships and have a natural ability to establish safe alliances with both young people and their families. You are structured and goal-oriented in your work approach, but at the same time flexible in adapting methods and work hours to the situation. You are proactive and take initiative as soon as you notice a young person showing signs of negative development, while also willingly taking your own initiatives to drive the work forward. You have a high capacity to work independently, but also possess strong collaboration skills since the role is built on close teamwork with colleagues and schools. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. More Information About the Position and Application This is a full-time project employment for two years with the possibility of extension. The position may involve some evening work. Welcome to submit your application by September 20, 2026. We conduct ongoing selection, so please submit your application as soon as possible!
