Chair of the Guardianship Board

Valkas novada bāriņtiesa (reg. No. 40900027816) invites applications for the position of Chair of the Guardianship Board (profession code 1344 05) through a competitive selection process. Work location: Semināra iela 9, Valka, Valkas novads. Key Responsibilities: ensure the guardianship board operates in compliance with the laws of the Republic of Latvia and the board's regulations; represent the guardianship board before administrative and judicial institutions, as well as in relations with natural and legal persons; process resident complaints, submissions, and suggestions, and ensure responses are prepared; provide consultations to residents on matters within the board's competence; prepare and conduct guardianship board meetings; participate in inspections of minors' living conditions and in preparing and resolving related matters; perform other duties specified in Cabinet of Ministers regulations, municipal council decisions, and the board's regulations. Requirements for Candidates: Citizen or non-citizen of the Republic of Latvia; at least 30 years of age; professional master's degree in law or professional master's degree in law and fifth-level professional qualification (lawyer), or other qualifications in law corresponding to level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework as defined in Latvia's education classification; at least five years of work experience in the relevant field of obtained education or in performing the duties of Chair, Vice-Chair, or member of a guardianship board; proficiency in the state language at the highest level; irreproachable reputation; no restrictions as specified in Article 11 of the Guardianship Board Law apply to the candidate; desirable: completion of the training program for Chairs, Vice-Chairs, and members of guardianship boards as specified in Cabinet of Ministers regulations; high sense of responsibility, strong organizational skills, excellent computer skills; strong communication, emotional resilience, and cooperation skills; Category B driver's license.
