Jelgavas novada Guardian Court is reannouncing a competition for the position of GUARDIAN COURT MEMBER Main duties of the position: advocate for the interests of a child or person under guardianship; prepare cases for hearing at guardian court sessions; file claims and applications in special proceedings and participate in court proceedings; receive visitors and provide consultations; cooperate with other guardian courts, long-term social care and social rehabilitation institutions, healthcare and educational facilities, social services, and police authorities; review submissions and complaints, including submissions and complaints regarding the conduct of parents, guardians, custodians, and foster families; execute attestations and assist in estate matters and estate protection; inspect living conditions and conduct family risk assessments; perform other duties in accordance with regulatory requirements. Requirements for candidates: compliance with the requirements specified in Section 10, Part 2 of the Guardian Courts Law, including: the candidate is not subject to restrictions on holding the position of guardian court member as defined in the Guardian Courts Law; is a citizen or non-citizen of the Republic of Latvia; has reached 30 years of age; has obtained at least an academic bachelor's degree or professional bachelor's degree and level 5 professional qualification, or other qualification equivalent to level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework as specified in Latvia's education classification in pedagogy, psychology, medicine, social work, or law, education management, or public administration, with at least three years of work experience in the respective field of acquired education or in performing the duties of guardian court chair, guardian court chair deputy, or guardian court member; has proficiency in the state language at the highest level; has an impeccable reputation; work experience at a guardian court will be considered an advantage; training completed as specified in Section 10, Part 4 of the Guardian Courts Law will be considered an advantage; good skills in working with MS Office standard software; good communication, cooperation, and interpersonal skills; preferred: category B driving license.
