We are looking for you to help create pleasant, safe, and fun experiences for visitors at our beautiful swimming pools! The Pool Facilities Unit is a relatively new unit within Strängnäs Municipality, comprising the new swimming pool in Strängnäs and our recently renovated swimming pool in Åkers Styckebruk. We are a team of approximately 10 people, plus additional seasonal staff who work as needed. We are a great group that loves working with health and wellness, public health, service, and water activities! We consider it very important to welcome all our residents to a clean and beautiful swimming pool. We enjoy having fun at work and helping each other, so flexibility is essential for the work to run smoothly. We are now looking to expand our team with additional positions: • 1-2 temporary positions at approximately 100%, 12 months with possibility of extension. Work is scheduled primarily for evenings and weekends with occasional daytime shifts. • 2-3 hourly temporary positions working as needed, primarily evenings and weekends. 2 position(s). JOB DUTIES As a pool attendant, your responsibilities will include: • Supervise swimming and ensure visitor safety. • Manage food service and meal preparation as well as kitchen orders. • Handle cash register services and provide customer service. • Manage sales at reception and café. • Lead wellness classes and customer service at the swimming pool. • Perform facility maintenance at the swimming pool and other areas. • Work as part of a team to develop the pool facility's operations. • Lead swimming lessons and other water activities for children, youth, and seniors. Swimming instruction is primarily led by our permanent staff. We have high ambitions and want to create a fantastic swimming pool where both guests and staff thrive. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you with/who are: • completed primary school. • comfortable using IT as a support tool in your work, for example for documentation. • strong skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. Knowledge of additional languages is a merit. • current training and/or previous experience in service work, such as food service, food handling, or café operations. • a good swimmer and comfortable in water. It is also a merit if you have: • training or experience in pedagogy, swimming instruction, or other physical activities for children and youth. • swimming instructor training or experience with swim lessons, group training, or exercise on prescription (FaR). • training in lifesaving and/or CPR. • experience working in a kiosk or food service at a swimming pool or similar environment. • knowledge of food preparation, hygiene procedures, and kitchen order management. • a B-class driver's license, as we operate swimming pools in both Strängnäs and Åkers Styckebruk. Your personal qualities are important, and we will place significant emphasis on them! We are looking for someone with a professional and warm approach, whether you are meeting families with children at the pool, participants in swim classes, or visitors at the café. You are solution-oriented, unpretentious, and flexible. Work tasks can change quickly throughout the day, and you easily adapt to operational needs. The ability to collaborate with colleagues from different parts of the operation is extremely important and a prerequisite for both you and our guests to feel comfortable with us. It is an advantage if you are accustomed to working at a fast pace, have a strong service mindset, and can work both independently and as part of a team. In the pool environment, it is important to be able to create a sense of safety, motivation, and engagement both in educational situations and when meeting visitors at the café and kiosk. Since your work will include close contact with children and youth, you must provide an extract from the police criminal record before employment. Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
