Waste Engineer/Process Engineer for Motala Municipality!

Motala Municipality is now seeking a waste engineer/process engineer who wants to take broad responsibility for the municipality's waste facilities and contribute to developing sustainable waste management for the future. In this role, you work close to the facilities, operations, and the people who work there, while also having clear individual responsibility for driving technical issues, development initiatives, and improvements forward. About the Role As a waste engineer, you will be an important technical function within Motala Municipality's waste operations. You work operationally close with the municipality's recycling centers and move between operational management and longer-term development issues. A large part of the role involves understanding how operations work in practice. You will therefore regularly be out at the facilities and maintain close dialogue with supervisors and staff within operations. At the same time, you work independently with reporting, procurement, contracts, investigations, and technical development issues. You will have clear functional responsibility and are expected to identify needs, take your own initiatives, and drive changes and adaptations all the way from idea to implementation. In the role, you will, among other things: follow up on and develop technical processes and working methods work with technical issues related to waste facilities, treatment, and landfill drive development and improvement initiatives participate in and lead investigations, projects, and procurement processes work with reporting, contracts, requirements, and job descriptions follow up on operations, results, and the facility's technical function contribute to ensuring the operation meets current requirements and permits monitor technological developments in the field and identify new solutions and opportunities work closely with the operations organization, supervisors, and other specialist functions. The work covers facilities in Motala, Vadstena, and Borensberg, which makes your daily work varied. One day you might work on a report or procurement, and the next day be out at a facility working with operations to solve a technical issue. Who Are We Looking For? We are primarily looking for someone with a technical interest and an understanding of how operational activities work, while also feeling comfortable in the space between technology, facilities, operations, and development. You ideally have post-secondary education in areas such as technology, environment, process, energy, or a related field. Relevant work experience can also compensate for a different educational background. We see that you may have experience from, for example: waste or recycling operations process industry water/wastewater, energy, or other technical infrastructure production or facility operations operations, maintenance, or technical development work. If you have worked with environmental and regulatory requirements, procurement, contracts, technical investigations, or development projects, that is a plus. You need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and have a B-level driver's license. Who Are You? About Motala Municipality The Technology and Community Services Department is a broad and socially important operation where many different competencies work together. The Water & Waste operations area is responsible for water and wastewater services as well as waste management within Motala and Vadstena municipalities. The waste area is in constant development.
