The Skellefteå local care area includes the Emergency Department, Center for Operating Activities, Medical and Geriatric Clinic, Rehabilitation Center, Psychiatric Clinic, 1177, and primary care in Skellefteå and Norsjö. Together, these provide good and accessible care. The Psychiatric Clinic in Skellefteå is a specialist care clinic with approximately 250 employees that assesses and treats patients with moderate to severe psychiatric conditions with moderate to extreme functional impairment. Care includes both outpatient and inpatient services, on a voluntary basis as well as under compulsory care legislation (LPT, LRV, certain measures under LVM). The clinic's goal and mission is to conduct all operations based on national guidelines, care and intervention programs, and the knowledge base presented through the Knowledge Governance Organization. Psychiatry's leadership consists of a Director of Operations, an Assistant Director of Operations, and nine department managers. You will work closely with your management colleagues, creating excellent conditions for meaningful collaboration and valuable collegial support. We are currently seeking a department manager for Division 2, where several professional categories work, such as nurses, nursing assistants/healthcare workers, treatment assistants, social workers, and physicians. Division 2 is a general psychiatric acute care ward. This means we admit and care for patients in all psychiatric diagnostic groups with acute 24-hour care needs. The ward also has two integrated forensic psychiatric beds for care of forensic psychiatric patients in the discharge phase. The 24-hour psychiatry services in Skellefteå have taken major steps forward in recent years. The department manager role includes personnel and work environment responsibility, employee conversations, salary discussions, recruitment, and staffing. You plan, lead, and drive operations forward in accordance with decided goals and assignments. Together with employees and management colleagues, you contribute to the overall picture and actively participate in the clinic's development work. Collaboration within clinics is a daily occurrence, and collaboration with other units within the region and other actors is also common. We are looking for someone with initiative and strong prioritization skills who can quickly shift between different tasks based on operational and employee needs. Having order and structure is important in this role. You are diplomatic and skilled at communicating in a pedagogical manner. At the same time, you create a good work environment through participation and close collaboration with employees and colleagues, building relationships and creating trust. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with university education or equivalent competence acquired through education and experience that the employer deems relevant for the role. You must also have management or leadership experience. Good knowledge of Swedish, fluent. We would like you to have experience from the health and medical care sector. Merits include if you have management training, education in psychiatry, work experience in a management position, and work experience in psychiatric care. Basic knowledge of software such as Office, experience with managing care, medical record, and personnel systems. To succeed in the department manager role, you are someone who values routines and predictability and works in a long-term and strategic manner in a supportive and collaborative way.
