The Medical and Geriatric Clinic is one of Skellefteå Hospital's largest clinics with approximately 300 employees who together create safe and secure care of high quality. We at the Medical and Geriatric Clinic are now seeking a department head for Medicine Outpatient 3 - a role where you lead and inspire nursing assistants and nurses in daily work as their immediate supervisor. Being department head for Outpatient 3 offers a unique opportunity to lead a broad specialized outpatient operation that includes several important medical areas such as hematology, medical outpatient team, gastroenterology team, dialysis, and nephrology clinic, creating a work environment where you as a leader manage a complex and exciting whole. The clinic's leadership consists of one operations manager, one assistant operations manager, seven department heads, and four medical directors. You will work closely with your fellow leaders, which creates good conditions for meaningful collaboration and valuable collegial support. RESPONSIBILITIES As a department head with us, you see the big picture and potential and take us forward boldly. You serve as a role model, work to create shared visions, and release initiative in your operation. You challenge and develop, and encourage and make your employees visible. You take responsibility for your operation within your authority and represent the employer by leading and developing toward Region's decided goals. The role includes personnel and work environment responsibility for approximately 25 employees, which includes employee conversations, performance reviews, staffing, and recruitment. Certain financial responsibility is also part of the assignment. You are responsible for daily operations and actively work to ensure high medical quality and good patient safety in the operation. You plan, lead, and follow up on operations based on set goals and assignments. Through present leadership, you create conditions for a good work climate where employees thrive, develop, and feel engaged. At Outpatient 3, we work in multiprofessional teams where collaboration, engagement, and participation are important cornerstones. We value an open climate where ideas are utilized. As a leader, you therefore have an important role in promoting good collaboration, structure, and continued development in the group. You work closely with fellow leaders, employees, team-responsible physicians, medical directors, and other functions within the clinic, hospital, and region. As part of the clinic's leadership and management group, you actively contribute to development work by raising both opportunities and challenges in the short and long term. QUALIFICATIONS For this role, we are seeking you who have: • Relevant university education, or alternatively other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent. • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. It is also meritorious if you have: • Previous leadership experience with personnel responsibility. • Work experience from health and medical care. • Experience working with personnel administration systems, the Cosmic medical record system, and the Office package. • Completed the Region's leadership program Tomorrow's Leaders, or other leadership training.
