About the Role Southern North Department is an engineering department that works with advanced operation and maintenance of our customers' high-voltage installations, stations, switchgear, and primarily within control systems. The department's employees are stationed in southern and central Norrland, primarily in Umeå, Sollefteå, and Sundsvall. As a manager, you are responsible for approximately 18 employees where the department's main work is in central Norrland. We work in close collaboration with other operations within Vattenfall Services, so other assignments can also be part of your daily work. We work in a fast and changing part of the business, and we collaborate with several different parties including hydropower producers, grid companies, grid companies' end customers, and industries. As a department manager, you work with development of the department's employees and operations in a business environment where safety has the highest priority. Examples of responsibilities and tasks: Personnel and resource planning, keeping yourself and the department updated on services and safe working methods, and working on further development and follow-up of methods and our deliverables Development of existing employees as well as actively working to grow the department Finances: forecasting, budgeting, and operational follow-up, as well as business analysis The department is part of Vattenfall Services' national Technical Business Area. You will report to the business area manager and be part of their management team, together with managers in other regions facing similar challenges. In this management group, there are good opportunities to contribute to the continued growth and development of the entire business area. Requirements Specification You are a leader who contributes with engagement, openness, and a strong focus on work environment and safety. You have several years of experience working as a leader with personnel responsibility and have strong drive regarding employee development and engagement. We would like to see experience in customer and supplier relations, financial follow-up, and contract management. Experience from the electrical power industry is advantageous. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities—you are an engaged leader with the ability to unite and motivate your employees. As a leader, you are responsive, clear, and present. You look out for the group's best interests while maintaining a business-driven approach. You are an initiative-taking and communicative person with strong personal drive to support the development of the business, the people within it, and our operations. Further, we expect you to have good IT skills, a class B driver's license, and the ability to travel for work, as employees are stationed in multiple locations and travel to Stockholm occurs. You speak and write both Swedish and English fluently.
