Do you want to take the next step in your career and help develop a modern machining operation? At Ellagro in Örebro, you'll take on a key role where you combine technical expertise, leadership, and change management – with a great opportunity to influence both your team and work methods.
About the Position
As department manager for machining, you'll hold a central position in the operation where you lead a team of 6 people and oversee daily operations. You'll combine hands-on involvement with leadership and work closely with both your team and production.
Beyond ensuring a stable production flow, you'll play an important role in developing work methods, competencies, and collaboration within the team. The operation has ambitions to grow in the coming years, both by strengthening the organization with more staff and by developing production capacity over time. This position therefore offers excellent opportunities to influence both day-to-day work and long-term development.
Your Responsibilities
As department manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the machining department and its daily operations. You'll work closely with production and provide support to the team on both technical matters and priorities, while driving development forward. A central part of your role is to create structure, ensure smooth workflow, and build a more autonomous organization where knowledge is shared and more people can take on responsibility.
You will, among other things:
Lead and allocate daily work and monitor production
Ensure work follows plan and handle deviations
Support the team on technical matters, setup, and programming
Work with production planning and monitoring in Monitor
Develop work methods, workflows, and processes for increased efficiency
The role is initially operational with presence on the production floor, but over time there is opportunity to take on greater and more strategic responsibility.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone with a strong technical background in machining who thrives in a role where you can combine hands-on work with leadership and continuous improvement. You have a solid understanding of production as a whole and can both dive into details and step back to create structure and planning.
To succeed in this role, we believe you:
Have experience with cutting machining, both milling and turning
Have worked in a CNC environment and are comfortable with the technology
Have good knowledge of production techniques such as tools, fixtures, and workholding
Have experience with production planning or similar responsibilities
Have leadership experience or a clear ambition to take on a leadership role
Have the ability to teach and a desire to help your colleagues improve
It's a plus if you have experience with the Monitor business system and offline programming. If you have experience with both, we consider that particularly valuable.
Personal Qualities
We place great importance on your personal qualities and your ability to build trust within the group. You are a leader who dares to challenge and drive change, while remaining open to input and building relationships over time. You thrive in an environment where you can combine structure with flexibility and where you can influence both work methods and culture.
As a person, you are:
Confident and clear in your leadership, with the ability to provide direction
Unassuming and present – you work closely with the team
Organized and analytical, with a focus on order and efficiency
Pedagogical and communicative – you enjoy teaching and developing others
Solution-oriented and proactive
You're motivated by seeing others grow and by building an operation that works sustainably – not just in the short term.
