The profession involves preventing and managing risks by monitoring premises, patrolling areas, and ensuring security procedures are followed. Security guards often work in close contact with people and need to act calmly and professionally in both everyday situations and during incidents. The work can include everything from alarm responses and access control to reporting deviations and collaboration with police or other authorities. Qualifications Beyond the personal qualities we seek and describe, you need to meet basic requirements to be qualified for the position: - Secondary school qualification - Good Swedish in speech and writing - Driver's license category B To be considered for the position, you must be at least 18 years old by your employment start date. This requirement is based on the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations AFS 2023:2, chapter 8 and appendix 2, which restrict minors' ability to perform tasks in security and surveillance-related activities. You also need to be of good conduct*, drug-free, have sound finances, and be in good health and physical condition to be employed at Avarn Security. Security guard training is a merit for these positions. Other advantageous qualifications include experience working in the security industry, certain technical skills, additional language skills beyond Swedish and English, and previous experience working in public environments. If you have the right profile for Avarn and you advance in the process but don't already have the required training (VU1, VU2), we'll cover your training costs! Security guard training (VU1, 9 days) is conducted by BYA Bevakningsbranschens Yrkes- och Arbetsmiljönämnd. Participation in this training is a requirement for employment.
