As a security guard at Avarn Security, you'll have an exciting day-to-day role where your task is to strengthen our customers' sense of safety and maintain a more secure environment. A security guard plays a central role in upholding safety and security in various settings. The profession involves preventing and managing risks by monitoring premises, patrolling areas, and ensuring that security procedures are followed. Security guards often work in close contact with people and need to remain calm and professional in both everyday situations and during incidents. The work can include everything from responding to alarms and access control to reporting irregularities and collaborating with police or other authorities. The role demands high levels of responsibility, integrity, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. As a security guard, you are an important part of creating a safe environment for people and organizations. You work with preventative security measures, controls, and service. Qualifications Beyond the personal qualities we seek and describe, you need to meet basic requirements to be qualified for the position: High school diploma (or equivalent) Good Swedish in speech and writing Category B driver's license You must be at least 18 years old by your first day of employment. This requirement is based on the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations AFS 2023:2, chapter 8 and appendix 2, which restricts minors' ability to perform tasks within security and surveillance-related activities. You also need to have a clean criminal record*, be drug-free, have orderly finances, and be in good health and physical condition to be employed at Avarn Security. Security guard training is a merit for these positions. Other advantageous qualifications include experience in the security industry, certain technical knowledge, additional language skills beyond Swedish and English, and previous experience working in public-facing environments. If you have the right profile for Avarn and advance in the process but don't already have the required training (VU1, VU2), we'll cover your education! Security guard training (VU1, 9 days) is conducted by BYA (Security Industry's Professional and Work Environment Board). Participation in this training is a prerequisite for employment.
