AFRY's Food business unit is characterized by extensive industry experience and strong expertise in project management, process design, plant engineering, automation, and quality assurance. About the Role As an automation engineer with us in Malmö, you will work closely with experienced colleagues on assignments directed toward the food industry. Together, we help our customers develop, streamline, and optimize their operations. We work in project form, where each assignment is based on the customer's specific needs and conditions – which makes each project unique. Therefore, we would appreciate it if you are flexible, adaptable, and enjoy new challenges. Examples of work tasks: PLC programming System design and technical solutions Quote work Electrical design Project management Commissioning Service and maintenance The work team consists of 14 people with different roles, where approximately half work primarily with PLC programming and half with electrical design. Most have extensive experience in the industry, and we have a strong culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing. There is considerable expertise to draw from here – and excellent opportunities for you to develop, from junior to a highly skilled automation engineer. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: At least 3 years of experience as an automation engineer, preferably in the food industry Relevant education in automation and/or electrical design, or equivalent work experience B-class driver's license Good ability to read and understand electrical drawings Experience with PLC programming We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and are accustomed to working in project form. Travel occurs in the role, on average approximately 20–40 days per year, both within Sweden and internationally. Merits Experience with Siemens Classic and/or TIA Portal Experience as an operations technician with PLC systems General programming experience or a strong interest in programming Experience with electrical design tools such as ElProCAD, EPLAN, or equivalent Additional Information Why AFRY?
